At the end of a lease you usually have three choices: turn the car in, buy it yourself, or sell it to a buyer like us.
Start with two numbers
- The buyout figure from your leasing company
- What the car is worth today, as an offer you can actually take
If the offer is higher than the buyout, selling puts the difference in your pocket. If it is lower, turning the car in may be the better move.
Watch for turn-in costs
Excess mileage and wear charges can add up at turn-in. When we buy the lease, those charges do not apply in the same way, because the lease is paid off rather than returned.
