A lease is a long-term rental, but the car still has a market value. When that value is higher than the buyout figure in your lease, the difference is equity, and it belongs to you.
How a lease sale works
We ask your leasing company for the current payoff (sometimes called the buyout or purchase option price). If our offer is higher, we pay the leasing company directly and hand you a cashier's check for the difference.
What we need from you
- Your leasing company and account number
- Photo ID for everyone on the lease
- All keys and fobs, and your current registration
A note on third-party buyouts
Some leasing companies limit who can buy out a lease. We check your lender's current rules before we make an offer, so there are no surprises on the day.
When it makes sense
If you are near the end of the lease, over your mileage limit, or the car is worth more than the payoff, selling can beat turning it in. Send us your details and we will show you the numbers.
